Country Living August 2004
Emma's business has come
a long way since she invested the only £50 she had in
an old post-office bicycle to deliver homemade cakes and sandwiches round
Oxford. Now based in a Dorset farmhouse with the milking parlour converted
into
a bakery, Honeybuns makes delicious flapjacks, cakes and cookies, including
gluten- and wheat-free versions, and employs 14 local people. A company with
a conscience, it contributes to the community by sourcing its ingredients,
packaging, design and distriibution locally, donates 10 per cent of the
proceeds from its Dorset Apricot Butterjack to a cancer care charity, and
puts redundant farm buildings to good use as a home for rescue animals.
