Honeybuns' gluten free BumbleO
Honeybuns have added a savoury pizza-type slice to their roster of extremely yummy cakes and biccies. An onion marmalade, local Dorset cheese, sun blush tomatoes, flour, red pepper, eggs and herbs are layered over a chickpea and buckwheat flour base; all you have to do is pop it into a 170OC oven for 15-20 minutes – and there you are! Smells delicious and tastes as good as it smells.
The BumbleO comes in retail two-portion trays (for £4.95) or in catering six-portion trays- ideal for a busy café where producing a genuinely gluten-free pizza-type product would be really hard. We cut the BumbleO up into bite size pieces and served it with drinks before the ice-cream tasting – and very well received it was. When hot, the pieces where slightly crumbly – but was fine when it cooled down. It also remained tasty the following day so would be really good for a picnic or lunchbox.
