BAKERY'S LEMON CAKE IS A SUPREME DELIGHT
|
Bramley bakery Honeybuns cooked up a winning recipe at the Great Taste Awards 2001. The awards, run by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers, were presented at Olympia and the Bramley bakery came away with a gold award and the supreme champion award. Success at this level was completed when they were also given the award for Best British Speciality Food which is sponsored by the food and drink marketing consultancy, Food from Britain. Honeybuns, part of the Taste of the South East regional food group, is a young innovative bakery established in 1999 by Emma Goss-Custard and Rakel Rhodes. It was their classic lemon cake which competed with 1,800 other entries to win the awards for them. Goss-Custard said their success was due to their excellent source of fresh lemons which are delivered by the landlord of their local pub. Charlotte Lawson, director of business and UK services at Food from Britain, said; "All of us at Food from Britain would like to congratulate Honeybuns on winning this award. Their lemon cake was absolutely delicious." |
