The Samaritans is teaming up with two bands in a push to raise awareness of its work.

The Sherborne Town Band will be playing in Pageant Gardens in Sherborne from 2pm until 4pm on Sunday.

At the same time the Wincanton Silver Band will be playing at the Bandstand in Middle Street, Yeovil.

The charity will hand out balloons, stickers, lollipops and Honeybuns cakes during the event.

Yeovil Samaritans director Sarah Coote said: "This is an opportunity for us to get out and meet the community we serve.

"We want to spread the message that Yeovil Samaritans are available 24 hours a day, every day to give confidential emotional support."
