Matthew Goss-Custard with Honeybuns new recruit Winnie |
Honeybuns bakery, returned to Glastonbury for the eighth time, delivering a much-needed pick-me-up to bedraggled revellers. Their range of wheat, dairy and gluten-free cakes and cookies and the promise of a comfy seat proved very tempting to a steady stream of customers throughout the weekend. "The chocolate brownies are our best-seller and we sell a lot of tea, coffee and hot chocolate when it's raining," said co-owner Matthew Goss-Custard. Honeybuns do their best to ensure that their move from Naish Farm, Holwell, to Glastonbury involves as few trips to and from the site as possible. Their efforts won them a Glastonbury Festival Green Trader Award in 2009 and they carry these green credentials throughout all aspects of their business. "We try and use locally sourced ingredients and do things in an environmentally friendly and ethical way. We also recycle everything we can," Matthew added. This year, baby Winnie became the latest addition to the team. He helped his father during his shifts and even managed to catch the Zingzillas performance.
