MESSAGE IN A BROWNIE

THE vital work undertaken by Yeovil and Sherborne Samaritans in supporting anyone feeling worried, stressed or depressed is being promoted in a novel way – via a chocolate brownie bar!

The cakeboard wrapper around the delicious milk chocolate snack, made by Honeybuns bakery of Holwell, near Sherborne, gives the branch information and details of how anyone can reach a Samaritan either locally or nationally for immediate emotional support.

The wrapper can be unfolded and kept for use as a handy reference bookmark.

Yeovil Samaritans director Sarah said: "A cup of tea and a delicious cake is just the thing to have when you need a break from the stresses of the day.

"We are delighted that Honeybuns are supporting us in this way, spreading the word that at any time 24-7 Samaritans are here to help and support those who face a crisis of any kind and who need to talk in complete confidence to a fully-trained Samaritan volunteer either on the phone or in person at 25 The Park, Yeovil."

The Milk Chocolate Brownie was launched a few weeks ago by the gluten-free Dorset bakery. Their plain brownie was described in The Sunday Times Magazine last year as "the best brownie recipe in the world". Honeybuns products are available from various local outlets or from www.honeybuns.co.uk

Yeovil Samaritans have a volunteer information evening on Tuesday 20th April, at 7pm, at 25 The Park.
