The finest food in Dorset was celebarted at Blackmore Vale Media's Taste of Dorset Awards last week.           

Local food heroes from Cranbourne to Lyme Regis received exclusive award plates in return for their commitment to local produce alongside passion and flair for their work.

"Many awards ceremonies seem to have an advertising agenda, but this took an honest approach."

Honeybuns cakes of Holwell won joint inspirational Food Business alongside Goldy's farm shop of Lytchett Maltravers. Owner Emma Goss-Custard said she was delighted they had been nominated by local people.

"I'm absolutely over the moon and so pleased for all our employees. It was a really nice surprise after what's been quite a hectic year for us. It's hugely nice to have others supporting us."
