Sun and Smiles at Honeybuns Open Day

Honeybuns, bakers of deliciously rich and moreish cakes and goodies held an open day and party at its Holwell base on Saturday to herald the arrival of summer.

Villagers and friends of the bakery flocked to the farm to hear live music, down real ale, sample local produce and enjoy blistering sun all in aid of cancer Care Dorset and Holwell Village Hall.
As well as Honeybuns' own delicious flapjacks and brownies, visitors were treated to a mini farmers market with stalls from, amongst others, Godminster and Blue Vinny cheeses and Innocent's range of delicious fruit smoothies. The WI was out in force with a plant stall and local crafts were also on display. Linda Lewis from Ibis at Sturminster Newton brought along just a few of the interesting antiques, kitchenalia and garden ornaments she buys and sells and Dorset Doddlers were in charge of the children's races on the field.

There were live bands in the marquee during the afternoon and the party continued with a disco into the night.
