Honeybuns produce exquisite, artisan cakes, by hand, with largely locally produced ingredients. If chocolate is required, they’ll use Valrhona and the butter is traditional farmhouse – margarine is never used. The eggs are laid only two fields away – there is a distinct community feel to the business. As yet, Honeybuns have no retail outlet themselves (you can find the cakes at John Lewis cafes) but they are toying with the idea of a café on site and are happy for visitors to come along, with a day’s notice. |
