GET TO GRIPS WITH GLUTEN-FREE GOODIES

Honeybuns is hosting gluten free cake baking courses at the bakery on Naish Farm, Holwell, this summer.

Emma Goss-Custard, founder of Honeybuns, says: “We are running the courses for the first time this year. Our aim is to share some of what we have learnt about gluten free cake baking in the past seven years and have some fun tasting products and making cakes on the day. In a way it is coming full circle for me, as I started Honeybuns whilst I was completing my postgraduate teacher training.”

On arrival there will be Honeybuns’ cakes and slices served with coffee followed by an introduction to the course. You will then be shown to the bakery for a demonstration. You will then be invited to make some cakes yourself.

A tasty, gluten free lunch made from local ingredients including Godminster Vintage Cheddar and Suzettes gluten free crepes will be provided. Wine is included in the price as well as a wicker basket of goodies and recipes to take home. The cost is £85 per person.

In the afternoon, you will be taught another recipe to make a different cake. All the cakes you have made during the day will then be finished and wrapped ready to go home with you.

Places are limited to 8 per day with courses running on 4 days this year. The courses are being held on Saturdays because the bakery is in use all week. The course dates are: 4th June, 18th June, 9th July, 23rd July.

For more information, please phone the bakery on 01963 23597 or see www.honeybuns.co.uk/courses.
