Baking

We want you to be bowled over by the attention to detail in each product we have created. We also want to provide a personal, proactive level of customer service for you.

We bake our cherished products far slower than larger bakeries do. We set our oven temperature low to allow flavours to mingle and develop properly. Batches are small and our products are made from only natural ingredients. There is a certain magic that is lost as soon as food is made to fit through machines & tubes.

We buy our ingredients from people with a similar approach to our own: those who take time to do things properly & are not so fussed about being "mainstream". We buy locally if we can find the desired quality. Our free range eggs come from 2 miles away & even most of our packaging is locally sourced. However, food miles are not the only consideration we take into account when choosing suppliers. For instance we consider quality, organic status, reliability and price too. We have a detailed sourcing policy where we explain this in more detail.

We bake a range of premium cakes and slices which are available as pre wrapped portions or tray bakes. We launched our savoury brand, BumbleO, in 2007 and we will be developing new flavours during 2008. All of our products are wheat-free and many are gluten-free and dairy-free too.
Tea pot clock

At Honeybuns it always seems to be Cup of Tea & Cake O'Clock....

Em's Kenwood in duck egg blue. This beauty used to belong to her granny and is still going strong in the test kitchen today!

Good Housekeeping published an example of one of our recipes... pretty simple really but baked slowly and made with care and very good ingredients.

Customer Service (Trade)

We have a lovely office team. Our aim is to prodvide all the product information and support you need. If you need point of sale material or our famous complimentary nibble trays for sampling, just give us a call. We currently supply via wholesalers and we can provide details of a wholesaler for your area.

Point of Sale Material (Trade)
We can offer two types of A5 standey-uppies, mini-standey-uppies which are quite handy
to put inside chiller cabinets etc, and a point of sale box. We also have an A3 poster featuring Joan, our donkey, along with some lovely cake photos.

Mini-standyuppie
Mini-standyuppie
We can send you a mini-standyuppie for any of our cakes. They work well on counter tops or in chiller cabinets.

Our new Triangular POS is modelled here in our Bee Shack cafe - we pop them out on tables for our customers to read.

All the other things we do besides cakes...

Click here for more details about The Bee Hop logo

Our beloved Bee Hop festival is now legend! We held a party for 5 consecutive years to celebrate the quirkiness of the geat rural "get together". Music, art, ale & proper, good food underpin the party & we also aim to raise some money for local good causes. If you're the kind of person who enjoys anything from organic cream teas to mud sliding & dancing to banging tunes, this might just tickle your fancy.... we are taking a break from Da Bee Hop in 2008 but please beee patient.... we'll be back refreshed for summer 2009.

Sporty Honeybuns

We have a Honeybuns running club where we run sometimes just for fun & sometimes to raise money for charity. We recently ran the Great South Run, raising £1500 for Myleoma UK. Our next run is the Bath Half Marathon on 16th March where we will again be raising money for Myeloma UK.

Running

Em out training with Honey & Peg

The Sturminster Half Marathon is a lovely annual event organised by the Dorset Doddlers.
As well as speedio runners they are true connoiseurs of a fine pint and welcome new memebers. We are very proud sponsors of the event & will also be entering our Honeybuns team again in 2008.

Animal Softees

We are not an animal rescue centre but we do have a lot of rescue animals. They are purely pets and are members of the family. Two of our dogs, Peg & Diesel came from Liz at Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue who work incredibly hard on rehoming all sorts of needy animals.

To Sum Up

We've got outside interests from art & music to animals, runnning & ale. All of which enrich what we're doing at Honeybuns.......... it's more than just cake - it's about having a lovely time!

Em xx
