Who we are
Hello, I'm Emma & I had a hare-brained scheme to pedal around Oxford delivering my
home made cakes to delis and cafes during the late
1990s.
We've still got the bike leant up against our Bee Shack Cafe wall. Some visitors assume it's just an attractive prop. It truly is
the original facilitator of the Honeybuns enterprise!

 |
Our bakery is now based at Naish Farm, Holwell & we very much enjoy a good party.....
|
We have grown a bit since 1998 & we are now a team of 26.
Our growth has been organic and gentle.
Everything is still made completely by hand without ...... rushing.

|
Our main focus is, of course our bakery,
but we have a weak spot for
all creatures great & small.
We are not a rescue centre but
we have been given lots of
animals, some of which you can see on our live webcam!

Honey our Supermodel Ridgeback mascot
Honey
is the Ginger Princess. Our beautiful, laidback
Ridgeback (please do not let her know her ridge is missing - we
keep her away from mirrors so she has not twigged yet).
She will not be seen outside once the Aga is switched on come Autumn time.

Diesel, after having a swim at his beloved Lulworth Cove
A big and cuddly German Shepherd who is glued to Em's side.
At 13
yrs old he is now suffering a bit with arthritis and
is on some special drugs which seem to be helping. Diesey will often be heard
barking when we're trying to talk to tres important customers
on the phone.

We
have the ever vigilant Peg, aka Peggers, who loves her pink
security T shirt & takes her job VERY seriously on open days
A small, eccentric
"Heinz 57". Peg came over from Ireland
where she had been abandoned and put in a pound. She
is VERY naughty and sneaks into the office given any chance. She is head of security
at our Bee Hop music festival.
|

Joan, 39 years old, and sure of her own mind.
Despite her vintage, Joaney is still immensely strong and sturdy. We have to
limit her calorific intake to save her little legs from
carrying too much weight. She gets very cross if her plate
looks
less full than Sammy's. She adores all treats and
loves having her neck scratched.
|

Rosie & Bee came as a pair and are complete
poppets.
Bee was born with a twisted nose & a unique dental arrangement ... she is very good at sniffing around corners.
In the summer, they are often to be found mooching under the apple trees in the garden.
 |
Sammy: a big,
strapping, battle scarred hunter who now enjoys munching
endless bales of hay and protecting Joan who he is deeply
besotted with. He is 27 years old and is still ridden from time to time to keep his joints supple. He loves carrots but doesn't care for apples! |
