Cosy Autumn Evenings at Honeybuns
Hiya, I’m a bit late this morning with my blogging routine. I waited for this morning’s mist to lift a little, before going out for my run.I really need to get myself sorted with a flezzy high vis. running vest. This morning was uber misty & I ran on the verges to keep well out of the way of any cars. Not very clever so I’ll sort this out.All the animals are full of hay & feed this morning & are chomping away contentedly. The goats, Margot & Hilary were having a head butt fight this morning- all highly amusing. To check them out on top of the freezer in their barn please visit our website www.honeybuns.co.uk. Somebody in the States has taken their photo & put it on their fluffy goat website. Margot & Hilary have gone Stateside-I always knew they had star potential & were headed for ‘them Hollywood Hills!’
I thought you might like a close up photo of Her Royal Gingerness aka Honey our laidback Ridgeback. Isn’t she gorgeous? She spends 23/7 in front of the Aga now it has gotten a bit chilly for her.The other remaining hour is spent asking for & getting scooby snacks & cuddles. I’m on the look out for a nice high vis coat for her too preferably nice & fluffy on the inside too, as Honey has got very sensitive princess skin.
Animals aside, we had a very busy day yesterday with lots of training, meetings & HACCP work to do. Today, Charlotte, Matt & I are having an all day sesh on audit work. We are going for BRC accreditation which, in non anorak terms, means we’re going to reorganise our paperwork & computerise a lot more of our processes to make us more efficent, safer etc etc. We then call in a BRC accredited person to check we’re doing it all right & to the agreed standard. It’s a bit on the dry side eg putting down to paper exactly how we receive a sack of sugar but it definitely seems the right way to go especially as we are starting to export more.
Char & I are also planning another epic journey to Ikea-Bristol at the beginning of Nov. We’re going to pick up more funky steel shelving for the bakery , pressies for the team & iddy biddy bakery stuff like steel sink plugs. It’s all really a smokescreen for the main purpose: buying fluffy bits of nothing for our own homes- we’re loving the sheepskins & all the 70s flower power cushions-uber lush. John, our most utterly gorgeous vicar is coming too & we’ll be able to discuss the new up & coming community magazine that he’s working on. We’re very much hoping that H’Buns can get involved with it-should be really good for Holwell & surrounding villages.
I’d better get my self down to the stable-cum-HBuns nerve centre (nerv racked centre) & meet with Matt & Char. It’s like entering the ring with Mike Tyson at his peak when having a ‘financial’ with Matt- he’s a tiger! Char & I are going to have to go all out for the Ikea budget-
