Sunny Grimsby

Hello there,

I missed my blog window on Friday, Matt & I went to Abingdon to visit my little bruv, Ted on Thursday night. We had a really lovely time carousing with some young people we met by random. Two of them had played at our Bee Hop this year in their band, Urban Idyll, so it was really nice to see them again & utterly by chance.
Ted & Matt had a few too many sherberts & were captured on CCTV parambulating themselves around the pub/hotel reception area on a gilded, ornamental trolley.
The receptionist was soooo nice about it the following morning & we gave her some cakes. I’m not sure whether this was good for the Honeybuns ‘brand’ or not? She seemed very pleased & was prepared to hide the buckled wheel on the trolley-
We then travelled up to see my dad here in GY. The weather has been superb & we’ve so far managed to:
1. Go for a lush curry in Cleethorpes (The Agrah)
2. Seen Borat, the movie- v. funny to the point of painful.Dad took the heavy homointense erotica in his stride
3. Went for a lovely walk to the v. quirky Fitties area in Humberston. The Fitties is like a whole village of Bee Shack stylie buildings, where people hang out & use their individually styled chalets as a base for the beach. The Fitties are utterly unique as far as we know & are a great advertisement for Great British Eccentricity!
We gave my dad a lurcher dog last year for his 70th B day. They go out walking on the beach for miles every day. It was good to see Banjo again. He is as fit as a flea & both he & my dad are best pals.
Matt has worked his magic & got my dad hooked up to the internet which is brilliant. This was the main purpose of the visit this time. This is his 71st Bday pressie.
I think I’ll blog next on Tuesday. Mondays are busy, busy work work bang bang. I need to find out how the ‘Bee Shack Baby Yeah’ session on Sat went. I also need to carry on doing training with Charlotte this week with newer members of staff. Last week’s training went really well & we were very pleased with how much knowledge they have acquired re food safety & gluten free work.
We’ll also be planning the details of our staff Christmas do.We need to figure out goodie bags, dares, all the usual.
Wishing everyone who might read this a lovely week,
Em x
