Lazy Summer Days
Halloo,
I’ve just wandered into the office after a VERY lazy day spent pottering, chatting to friends & watering the garden.I moved Joaney, our donkey, into the Bee Shack garden whilst wearing flipflops- I paid the price by getting trodden on as Joaney lunged towards a lush patch of grass- Ohmigod!!! It hurt very much indeed-my foot is now throbbing & I’m a bit worried about my half marathon training (not that I’ve been that religous about it)
Matt & I went along to one of our Honeybuns team evening dos last night & it was excellent fun.We have 2 social secretaries- not bad for a company of 26- you can see where our priorities lie! The evening was centred around food in our local & a game of skittles with chatting & general goofing around.Saturday daytime had been spent catching up on work stuff, mainly hideously old e-mails that I had not reached. I’ve mostly caught up, but I could not bear to miss the glorious weather today-work will have to wait.
This morning, a local & very talented musician, Mark Pritchard came round to meet us & he is up for playing at the Bee Hop which we are delighted about. His band is called Sylva & they play acoustic folk.Word really does seem to be spreading about our festival & we are getting VERY excited! The art exhibition we are planning for the Bee Hop is gathering quite a lot of momentum & we have now got 20 artists/sculptors- it promises to be a really eclectic & stunning mix.The overriding aim for us is to keep the Bee Hop chilled & non ‘grabby’. We keep the entrance deliberatley low (it’s all given to charity anyway) & treat the musicians, artists & stall holders really nicely with ale & food tokens bubbly top ups & canapes throughout the day. It’s amazing how snotty some festivals can be in terms of looking after the performers-.& even the visitors.Give many people a clip board & a fluorescent vest & they’re off into a whirlygig of officaldom.
The main aim is for everyone to get together & indulge in sensory overload-.you just then need to locate a deckchair or armchair in which to simpley flop!
If anyone wants to come it’s on sat. 21st July.
Wishing you a faaaaabulous Sunday afternoon/evening
