Bee Hoppa magic
Halloo,
I’m very sorry for my whingette blog last week. My brain was a little bit fried & I’m aiming to get better whilst under pressure! I tend to tremble a bit & get a little bit overwhelmed as soon as my brain gets overloaded.
After a lovely weekend at Guilfest with Matt & old friends (2 old Honeybunners in fact) everything seems a lot more ‘do- able’ now.We saw Madness, The Magic Numbers, Uriah Heap & lots of others. We picked up lots of inspiration from the Kidz Zone too for our little Bee Hop.The atmosphere at Guilfest is very chilled- except for the dance Tent which was a tad too hectic for us doddering oldies..
Charlotte & I got a lot of huntergathering work done today in preparation for the Bee Hop. We went to a fab place called the Scap Store in Yeovil where you can find all manner of recycled stuff to make things from- we needed loads of things for our young persons’ sculpture workshop so it was a fruitful rummaging session. We found cardboard tubes, foil, tinsel, buckets of glitter, cards- all in all a very good eco friedly haul & the kids should love it.
We also bought a lot of the canape ingredients & food for the Bee Hop Cafe- there is quite a bit too buy in stages. We;ll be getting all our fresh fruit & veggies in towards the end of the week.
We think we’re going to get quite a lot of campers on the Saturday night,so sausages are arriving (gluten free naturally) from Enford Farm this Friday. We’ll make up a honey glaze & bake them in the Aga on the Friday night.
Tomorrow I’ve got heaps to do but I’m going to take one thing at a time, get up nice & early & get on with it.I need to try & avoid any mental wheel spin.Going running in the early evening helps to clam me down one heck of a lot so I’ll look forward to that.
Normal bakery work is also quite demanding at the moment. Our export work is growing steadily & we are very conscious of needing to tend to this new part of our business. Our subtle re branding is also coming along really well & we’ll have 4 of the new look cake boards ready in 8 weeks time- very exciting.
I’m avidly reading a superb branding book at the mo- to get me off to sleep was the idea but it is fascinating & I can’t stop reading it. I’ll name check it when I remember who wrote it. It has been brill for mme to learn from whilst re working our packaging.
Anyhow that’s it for now.
Wishing you all a smashing week,
Em x
