Curry for Tea
hallo,
Thank you to everyone who has sent me lovely messages about the blog especially LLchocolate- I’m so ‘techy-crappy’ that I have not yet figued out how to reply to such messages-sorry, I’ll ask Matt to help me tomorrow & reply!
I’m sorry for whingeing on about my pesky cold too- felt very sorry for myself but I do realise fully that I have nothing truly to moan about-now my head has stopped aching I’m feeling much more positive.
London was sooooo interesting.I went to meet with M&S which was really enlightening- they said our cakes were stunning & highly innovative but if we were to be considered as a supplier we’d need to consider really carefully ourselves if this would be the right step for us. M&S quite rightly have massively high expectations of their suppliers in terms of food safety etc. We have been audited & passed at the highest levels but an M&S audit is likely to be even more stringent-we need to figure if we can bear any more extra work for the rest of this year & 2008- we’ll see–we’re proud, at the end of the day, of being an artisan food producer based on a farm. If we are asked to relocate to a purpose built factory I think we might find that quite contary to what we’re all about.
tea tonight was prawn madras with pilau rice.I roasted tomatos, aubergine, garlic & kingprawns. I then carefully unscrewed the lid of a jar of Lloyd Grosman’s curry sauce & sloshed liberlly (the whole lot) over the veggies & prawns. I then pepped it up with chopped fresh chilli & lots of chopped fresh coriander. Luscious & really quick.
Plans for the weekend include going over to a local camp site with our Bongo on Sunday to stay with our friends, Sylvia & Frank. We’ll have a meal & a few sherberts-should be a really nice break. Saturday is our art exhibition in the Bee Shack Cafe -everyoneis very, very welcome to drop by. Rosie is displaying her wonderful work & you can nibble canapes & sup mulled wine to your heart’s content!
Wishing everyone a luscious weekend,
Em xxxx
