Food Glorious Food!
Hiya,
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I soooo appreciated this weekend- it was full of all the things I love the most- seeing friends & family, hosting an event in the Bee Shack & meeting new people plus going camping in our Bongo on Sunday night with Sylvia & Frank- there were also moments of pottering about the house & dreaming up new ideas of how to make it look even cosier for the winter ahead.
Unbelievably for me I also set aside time to go riding with my friend Katrina on Sunday morning. Billy, my old race horse was as placid as a mega placid thing & we all (riders & equines) really enjoyed the late autumn sunshine.
On Saturday we went with pals to the finale of Screen Bites which is a superb fusion of foodie themed feature films eg : Volver & Chocolat plus more serious short documentaries on foodie issues. We were there as a local food producer & really enjoyed doing our tasting. Hall & Woodhouse (Mark WH) was there & wre incredibly generous with their ales & portion control!
Today, we’ve been busy catching up with outstanding quotes & things for prospective customers & also preparing for our ‘audit fest’! We’ve got 3 food safety audits back to back over the next 3 weeks so we need to focus on being up, together & organised for that.
Animals are all A1 & OK- Joaney our donkey is just recovering from a little infestion to a back leg- caused by leg mites- the vet has been to see her & prescribed the right medication.
Carrying the food them on- for tea tonight I think I’m going to do a curry again. Now the nights are drawing in I love fresh chilies added liberally to a Madra or Jalfrezi- Wednesday we’ve got pals coming round & Matt’s dad is coming over- Matt & his pa are then going on a walking trip together. That calls for serious carbo loading so I think it’ll be a humongous fish pie with uber mash- loaded with farmhouse butter & a parmesan crust.
Okey dokey, I’d better scoot & feed les animaux.
Wishing everyone a lovely week,
Em xx
