Running Mad

Hallo,

Happy New Year to everyone.Had a bit of a funny holiday all in all, spent so much time waiting for it to arrive & then I get all fidgety with thinking about work things I have not settled down to achieve- am I ever go to be quietly content? I fear I’ll always have ants in my metaphorical pants.
We spent Christmas day with friends in the village & things were very relaxed. Matt & I had been on an epic run across country in the morning but encountered a very severe road flood- we were nearly home, so it was quite frustrating.Poor Honey was up to her chest in very cold water & looked beseechingly at us-we had to find an alternative route back.We were out for 2 hours & covered 10 miles of very muddy, rain soaked countryside.Getting back inside the warm was such a treat. Staying awake after a hearty Christmas dinner proved impossible-Then this seems to suit me ie putting yourself through discomfort & knackering yourself out utterly in order to ‘earn’ a breather & chill out time-
We had the pleasure of my brother Ted’s company over Christmas too. Always good fun. I think Ted will possibly be burning up the streets of Lambourn on his shiny new bicycle as I write this.
I’m getting back into running now & I’ve really missed it. It is essential for keeping me mentally safe & sound. The black dog of depression is often not far away, particularly at this time of year. Running has proved to be my saviour. I’ll pop out this afternoon for an hour- I’ve got to get some crafty training in before we head off to Guildford to see our pals, Mal & Rak. We’re all preparing for the Bath Half Marathon in March & things could possibly get a little bit competetive.
matt’s long gazelle legs shoulds carry him safely to victory though.
Food & business wise- we’re keeping our fingers crossed that our products go well in Sainsburys- they’ll be in 50 stores from 2nd Jan on the bakery aisle. We need you to call us for a local store & then go and buy lots! We have a 12 week window where they decide if they’re going to keep us on or not so the pressure is definitely on.
I’m not one for specific New Yrs resoultions as I think they tend to set you up for a fall but I really really do want to become more focused for the benfit of the business this year. I need to lever myself from day to day planning & get with a more forward thinking strategy-right I’d best get on with this!
