Edinburgh’s Fabulous Fringe
Hallo,
Hopefully everyone is enjoying a laid back ‘High Summer’ and managing to catch at least a few rays of sunshine. Matt & I have just pootled back from Edinburgh Fringe in the trusty Bongo Camper van.We stayed in Warrington on the way up- we ran out of time & dusk was falling-.Hmmmm it turned out to be less campsite & more trailer park with lots of whitevesty men and loud, strange noises in the dead of the night. Not quite what I had in mind-our little polka dot camping chairs, parasol & enamel pot of olives looked just a little bit out of place-
We kept our heads down & got out of there as fast as possible the following morning.I’ve kept the business card as a little chuckle initiator. We then headed up to family in Edinburgh & frequented the brilliant Edinburgh city farm www.gorgiecityfarm.org.uk It’s a great place for kiddies- there were piggies with piglets, sheep, a lovely herb garden and a great red tractor for the little ones to ‘drive’.This was much more ‘Honeybuns’ than our rather lack lustre Warrington drive thru experience. We picked up ideas for using railway sleepers as steps- covering them with chicken wire prevents foot slippage. They also had raised sleeper beds packed with herbs & butterfly friendly plants. We took notes for the Bee Shack garden.
Edinburgh was choccabloc with culture, cafes and creativity. What’s not to love about perusing the trusty Edinburgh Fringe Guide whilst supping a latte in one of the numerous Boho chic cafes?Ace for people watching.
One place that really stood out for quality evening- grub & a beautifully presented kitsch interior was Home. Pls see www.homebistro.co.uk .We loved our simply cooked supper (smoked haddock) & wanted to take the ceramic ducks & crocheted loo roll cover back with us.
It’s great to be back though. Honey our beautiful Ridgeless Ridgeback is pregnant -she is due in about 2 weeks. Admittedly this was not planned but we’re hopeful that we’ll find super homes.
If you would like to find out more about the pups- please email th****@ho*******.uk
We’re seeking owners who are preferably running mad.Honey’s pups are likely to be very big & judging by their mum & dad they will be extremely keen on exercise.Mum & dad are also incredibly friendly.
We’re giving them away to uber nice homes – not selling them. So if you are interested and lovely and have a knowledge of Ridgebacks- please drop us a line.
I’d better take Ben out for a run now-he’s had a week off & we need to get out into this late summer sunshine.
if you’re popping to the Bee Shack on Saturday, 5th September there’s a good chance the puppies will be one week old- if all goes to plan-..
Em xx
