Truly Gorgeous Cakes from Dorset

Hallo,

Vicky & I have been busy travelling up and down the land visiting customers, some of whom we have been supplying since we started Honeybuns back in 1998. We wanted to say hello to old friends and also find out how their individual businesses have changed over the years and what we need to keep them happy & well served for the future. It was inspiring to see first hand just how beautifully crafted these independently owned cafes, espresso bars & eateries are. If you need a stunning & authentic Italian coffee in the centre of London why not give one of the 5 Ravellos coffee bars a go? http://www.myravello.co.uk/ . One of our other firm favourites & long standing loyal stockists is Cafe in the Park in Rickmansworth. Owned & run by Ian & Carly, this Cafe is a gorgeous place to hang out by the lake – we spent 3 hours here – just chatting over coffee & soaking up the Park Life – ’twas wonderful. Their website www.thecafeinthepark.com is cool too.

It’s invaluable having the Bee Shack Cafe here on site – as we can get a better feel of how it is to be a retailer & Honeybuns stockist! We try out new ideas for displaying our cakes & then share this with our retail customers. The Bee Shack was very busy last Saturday. We were delighted to welcome some young visitors from Holwell Nursery who stopped for a drink & a cake as part of their nature foraging hunt. Freddie the Shetland pony, our latest addition to the team, was on hand to be cuddled & brushed. He enjoyed all the fuss and stood patiently in the Bee shack garden.

Freddie came to us from the most excellent Somerset & Dorset Animal Rescue Centre www.somersetanddorsetanimalrescue.co.uk & they’re holding a music festival called PawFest on 3rd September. We’ll be there with some of our animals.

Charlotte & I are just off to a ‘Fabulously Vintage Fair’ in aid of the honeypot Charity. We’ll take some photos – we’re hoping to try out some lovely cakes – it’s always great to eat elegant fancies made by someone else. We might even get time to sit down & chat about things other than cakes-not very likely though!

Wishing everyone a super duper weekend,

Em x
