Cream-teas, cake sales and Coeliac awareness
Howdy peeps-
Next week (14th – 20th May) is coeliac awareness week, so we and our friends, are trying to help spread the word about what it means to be coaliac or gluten intolerant. Coeliac UK are a charity working to help improve the lives of those with coeliac disease or dermatitis herpetiformis through research, support and campaigning. Even if you’re not gluten intolerant their website is well worth checking out for gluten free recipes and advice. www.coeliac.org.uk
Coeliac Awareness Week 2012
Keep an eye on our Facebook page next week as we’ve got 5 of our brand new Gluten Free Baking books to giveaway. Yes – you heard right – giveaway, (well, once it’s been printed!) If you’re not lucky enough to win one, or not willing to chance it, Honeybuns Gluten-free Baking’ is now available for pre-order on our website for £14.99, and will be hitting the shelves of other retailers in June! Lottie here in the office was enjoying it a little too much this afternoon, her comments about the fantastic photos had us drooling and trying to tear the one and only copy we have here away from her- oooohh fisticuffs!
Honeybuns Gluten-free Baking
Not only is the book available to pre-order, but our Sconeybuns are now LIVE! By which I mean you can buy them from our online shop now- go on! They’re delicious on their own, and are both gluten and dairy free, OR scrumptious with lashings of jam and cream, (or cream and jam depending where-abouts you’re from). Packs of 4 cost £4.99.
Cream Tea Time!
Well we’re expecting (and hoping for) a little sunshine this weekend, which will get us even more revved up for the forthcoming pawfest- woo hoo! It’s less than a month to go now till the festival day on Saturday June 9th. Last year was brilliant, but this year promises to be even better with our very own Matt performing with his band Buzz! There’s also a massage tent this year, sounds good right?! Tickets are available online and at a number of local outlets – see the website. Children under 11 go free, all other tickets are just £16 with your money going towards the cost of rescuing, caring for and rehoming animals in need.
Pawfest
Time for a speedy update on production – well, with it being a short week as a result of the bank holiday I wasn’t thanked for poking my nose into the busy bakery to take a few snaps, but couldn’t resist getting closer to the delicious smells. And all for you public, i’m bringing the bakery to life for you (whilst putting myself at risk you know!) So, here’s Barry perfecting the art of liberally sprinkling almonds and cranberries on our very yummy almond moon. If you’ve yet to try one, it’s a polenta based bakewell with cranberry curd, cranberries and toasted almonds. It’s a Gold Great Taste Winner too you know! Mind you, i’d recommend trying it over taking my word for it 🙂
Almond Moons
Ooooh, why do I do this to myself? Think I need to do another almond moon taste test, just to check it is as yum as I remember. Polly, pop the kettle on please. Well folks thats all for now- stay tuned for next week’s episode
