Bird life at Naish Farm

Log pile

We’d love to hear about your bird sightings, plantings, and any nature photos you’d like to send in. We’ll include selected items on this blog.

Since we got busy planting in a more serious way last year, visitors to Honeybuns have commented on the abundance of birdlife and the racket that greets you coming up our drive. This avian chorus is really loud from Spring to midsummer with the flocks of sparrows frequently drowning out human conversation.

Most recently we’ve applied for a community pack of 450 trees, again from the Woodland Trust. If we’re successful we will plant the trees in the Bee Shack Café field, and this will include log pile habitats, lots of bird and insect feeders, as well as installing 2 or 3 beehives. Do take a look and see if you might be eligible. The woodland needs to have a ‘sharing aspect’ with the local community.
