We’ve been hard at work developing our delicious vegan range of cakes that offer vegan, dairy free and refined white sugar free options.
The newest addition to this next generation of cakes is the Squillionaire, a date version of our top selling Chocolate Caramel Shortbread.
With an innovative and delicious date sweetened base, a date caramel centre and a rich dark chocolate topping, the only refined sugar present is a small amount in the chocolate topping. We aim to eventually switch the chocolate to a dairy free and refined sugar free chocolate.
“We’ve enjoyed the challenge of creating new recipes which avoid refined sugar,” says Honeybuns founder Emma Goss-Custard. “As ever, our primary focus is on making truly delicious artisan treats. The lack of refined sugar is an added bonus.”
Following on from the recently launched gluten free and dairy free Fruity Nut Bar, we aim to grow this range of cleaner cakes, with more treats in the pipeline. We are delighted that John Lewis and Waitrose will be stocking both the Squillionaire and Fruity Nut Bar in their cafes from May 2016.
The Squillionaire is available in 85g individual slices and 1kg traybakes. Shelf life is 21 days. The individual slices come in Honeybuns new packaging, which has been re-branded with a fresh clean look but still very much identifiable as Honeybuns.
