The Great Honeybuns Charity Bake Off
Normally we’re very busy baking cakes here at Honeybuns, but the team recently found time to do a spot of baking at home for The Great Honeybuns Bake Off!
The Charity Bake Off took place on Thursday 3rd November. The Honeybuns team, consisting of bakers, production and office, baked their tasty treats and showstoppers at home and brought them into the Bee Shack, our team meeting room, for judging.
There were over 20 entries entered into categories which included Hot Cakes, Seasonal Specials, Gorgeous Gateaux and Nice Buns.
It was down to the two judges, Georgia (Baker) and Elaine (Bakery Team Leader) to judge all the delicious entries. Just like Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, their great expertise certainly helped! It was a tense time as they tasted, commented and conferred to make their final judgments.
This was followed by a team get together in the Bee Shack where the winners were revealed (and the cakes were scoffed!). Overall Best in Show went to first time baker Paul Joyce (Store Manager) for his Espresso Chocolate Chilli Cake. All the winners received a rosette, and all entries received a medal.
The Honeybuns team were delighted to raise £150 for Children in Need.
