Animal Magic
Hi,
I’ve just re read my last blog entry. A little bit spooky as I mentioned how worried I was about letting the horses out in the soggy conditions. It was a sunny day here on Tuesday so I let Sammy (old hunter) & Joaney (our lovable donkey) out in the front paddock. They had been out there barely 15 mins when Matt happened to look out of the office window. He said very calmly ‘mate, I’m not sure Sammy is very well.He is kind of twisted & lying on his back with his legs in the air’ Not normally a very good prognosis. I legged it out to where Samuel was. It looked awful, his back legs were woven through the wooden post & rail fence & he couldn’t lever himself up.
At first I thought he might have broken something but thank God he was just horribly stuck. He was very pleased to see me & I popped his head on my lap whilst Matt & Char came over to help.
Between us we actually managed to roll him free of the fence. It was real team work & Sam was delighted to be helped out, he whinnied & literally jumped for joy. Joaney looked on with wise old eyes as if to say ‘what on earth did you get yourself into such a pickle for?’
We think Sam slid on the wet grass & wedged his back end through the wooden rails. He tried rolling away but got more stuck. As we rolled him over I threaded his legs back through the fence. If we hadn’t been there, it could have got badly messy. It was quite an eyeopener as to how quick Sam got weak & cold.
Whilst we’re in Ireland,(we’re flying tomorrow first thing) I’ll keep them all in the yard-.just in case of any incidents.
Workwise, Char & I went to Fresh & Wild in Notting Hill to do a tasting yesterday. We didn’t spot anyone recognisably famous but did eavesdrop the following conversation ‘yeah, we flew back in from LA last night & did some really good tracks, man-we’ll keep on jammin-The babes were hot man’ He looked the part, trendy trainers, mussed up bed hair, bionic shades- all the usual supa star camaflouge. We were going to give him one of our home printed Bee Hop festy fliers for a laugh but he had slinked off mysteriously before that happened.Probably to meet a hot babe somewhere-
Back to the real world: today will be sent catching up on office jobs: meetings on Japan, Senior weekly meeting, office team meeting, sending sprecial request samples out etc.
I’ll be ‘finishing early’ to pack & prep for Dublin. We have a bit of a hideously early morning-4.30 am alarm call on Friday. But it’ll be a good experience & it is rare that we have to do such early starts. As long as we get three cups of tea within the first critical hour we’ll be fine!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
