Introduction-Hello
Hello
Think an introduction is a good place to start-I’m Bex and the Honeybuns team have kindly take me on for a two-week work placement, to enable me to gain some valuable experience. I’m currently studying Management Sciences at Southampton University and love it; along with that and my love for cakes I believe/hoping that it puts me in good stead to be of some help to Honeybuns.
I on arrived on Naish Farm on Sunday evening where I was greeted by a smiling Emma and some very welcoming over enthusiastic barking from the dogs; Olli, Honey, Peg and Ben. Currently, I don’t think it’s actually possible to have a favourite, all so totally unique in their own special way. Went for a quick bit to eat at the local pub, which served fantastic food and then off to bed to give me all possible chance of actually getting up in the morning and not sleeping through the alarm, as on so many other occasions.
I woke to a far to early, unwelcome, 6.00 alarm call, followed by a busy day in London. Thanks to Honeybuns existing and potential clients I was able to shadow Emma through her scheduled meetings. It was fascinating watching Emma work and seeing the enthusiasm she has for the cakes; Honeybuns produces and sells, really inspiring. Arriving back on the farm for around 9 o’clock after a long and tiring day, another quick bit to eat and then straight to bed.
First day in the office, started by going through the induction process for new employees with Emma and a tour of the Honeybuns site. Then onto some real’ work-
Most of last week I have been working on updating the website and implementing changes, so look out for the hopefully a new and improved’ website.
On Friday I was enlisted to help, on behalf of Honeybuns, with the yearly Samaritans event, 24/7, which aims to create a greater awareness about what they do and how to become a Samaritan. Honeybuns donated a selection of cakes along with Costa who provided coffee to try and entice passers by to stop, ask questions and get involved.
Take care
