Honeybuns Bee Shack Cafe Open

Our lovely little Bee Shack Cafe is open this Saturday for lunches & cakes & savouries to take home for tea. We’d love to see you there. We’re open 11am-4pm the first Saturday of each month & the kettle will be on. Please take a look at www.honeybuns.co.uk/beeshack for more info.
This month we hosted a picnic for the Honeypot Children’s Charity. Honeypot provides holidays for children who are acting as carers and/ or are in vulnerable situations. We were bowled over by how lovely these children were- together we planted seeds, picked vegetables, fed the Honeybuns chickens (Posh & Pecks) & patted the ponies.

Charlotte & the Honeybuns BeeGreen Team have been harvesting their veggie crops in the Bee Shack Garden- we eat all together as a team three times a week and our aim is to be self sufficient with veggies by next summer. Our whole village of Holwell seems to be awash with courgettes and we’re scraping around for more recipes- if anyone has yummy courgette recipe ideas to share we’d be delighted to hear from you.
We’re hoping shortly to have permission to install a mobile classroom on-site. This will enable us to re-jig our office and create a visitors’ centre here on the farm. We’ll then have a specially set up room for tastings of local produce, trips around the nature reserve & bakery etc. At the moment it’s a case of musical furniture as we have to squeeze visitors in where we can.
We were delighted to have won three double starred Golds at this year’s National Great Taste Awards. Thank you to our uber professional & talented team. The winning products were- Snowy Hills, Almond Moon & our Little Cheddar & Tomato Savoury Tarts.
We’ll have samples of these to try this Saturday at the Bee Shack.
