May Day Madness

Hallo folks,

Really hope you’re all well and not been too overwhelmed by all this rain – we’ve had some burst banks round our way, but not so much to put a stop to the making, baking and munching that’s been going on here.  Looking at the baking schedule for this week it seems that every single type of cookie and cake we make is being baked this week, just as well really seeing as we have another bank holiday on it’s way. I think I heard a small sigh of relief once the mini’s were all packed yesterday – they are quite fiddly to do. Mind you, what makes more work for us here, makes slightly lighter work for your wallet, and of course waistline!

Mini’s all packed and ready to go!

Did you know that our best selling Chocolate Caramel Shortbread is now available as a mini slice? There are 6 gluten free cakes in mini versions: Almond Moon; Chocolate Caramel Shortbread; Coppice Cake; Heathcliff Brownie; Milk Chocolate Brownie; Snowy Hills, as well as our Cranberry and Pecan Flapjack (not gluten free due to the oats in the recipe). These are all available from our online shop if you can’t get hold of them from an outlet near you.  Online Shop.

Of course, for those of you who are able to make it to visit us this coming Saturday, 5th May, they’ll be available along with the rest of our range to buy here.  We launched the Chocolate Caramel Mini’s at our last Bee Shack day in April, to the delight of those who feel that a regular sized slice is just that little bit too indulgent –  our mini’s are perfect as a lunch box or little tea-time treat.

So-  Saturday sees us involved in a little May time Madness! The Bee Shack is open 11 – 4 as usual for cakes, cookies, drinks, gluten free lunches and gifts. As a special treat to celebrate May Day we have the fantastic Samantha playing the fiddle from 2pm – possibly to be accompanied by the Honeybuns Maypole Dance Troupe** TBC!  There will also be a crafty corner where you can make and decorate headbands, Spring garlands and lucky spring charms using natural materials, ribbons and fabric. We’ve been collecting amongst ourselves in the office – please bring along any crafty bits you might be looking to re-home.

What super duper prizes! This week marked a Royal visit from Her Royal Highness to Sherborne, our nearest town. How exciting! We know that some very lucky local school children were ushered into the town via high security channels to meet and greet Her Majesty. And can you believe it – the sun shone! Yes, after the ridiculous amount of rain we’ve had, the skies cleared and the sun shone for the occasion. Rightio- time for a team meeting, which includes some taste testing of the very freshest batch of Sconeybuns – oh poor us! They’ll soon be available through our online shop – watch this space.

On that note- i’m off till next time. Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Saturday! Toodle pip-
