With keen February winds blustering away and a snowy chill in the air, we surely all deserve an extra special treat this Valentine’s day.

Artisan crafts and kindness to the planet are causes close to Honeybuns’ heart -as well as creating utterly delicious cake, naturally.

To bring these elements together we’ve teamed up with similarly minded, lovely artisan makers to create our Honeybuns collaboration gift boxes for Valentine’s Day 2021. It’s not always easy to find handmade, cruelty free presents which are also really indulgent. It’s even harder to order directly from genuine small businesses. Hence, we had the idea to create our own gift box selection for you. Every order placed is helping us sustain us and those artisan producers we’ve collaborated with. We can even personalise your gift box with a handwritten card.

This is our first collaboration with The Rhubarb Candle Company, based deep in the Dorset countryside.

We love their rhubarb and rose candles which arrive in their own beautiful copper coloured tin. Their eco credentials are impeccable with every candle made from clean burning hand soy way which is 100% cruelty free. We’re delighted to have teamed up with a like minded small rural based business.

Meet the Maker – Rebekka from BekBek Makes

We asked Rebekka (maker of the gorgeous badges) a little bit about her business–

Please can you introduce us to your handmade and quirky range?

I create handmade illustrated jewellery. My designs start off as a sketch which I then digitise and laser cut. They are then hand painted, filled with glitter and finished with resin to give them a super shiny finish.

Tell us about the inspiration for the mixing bowl pin badge

Honeybuns bakery asked me to design some badges for an online giveaway competition a while ago. People loved the bakery themed designs I created and one of them was the red mixing bowl with wooden spoon and chocolate mix. There’s a nod to nostalgia which I think is comforting and cheerful- something we all need at the moment.

How important are eco considerations to you at BekBek Makes?

My wooden designs are made from FSC Sustainable Birch wood and my resin is non toxic. When I first started my business Eco biodegradable glitter was very new and the stockists were unsure how they would react in resin. Luckily Eco Glitter has come along way and I am gradually updating my designs with Eco friendly substitutes. Where possible I avoid using plastic in my packaging, opting for paper bags and shredded tissue.
