I can still feel the angst as Valentine’s day loomed closer at secondary school, “will I get a card from him- has he even noticed me in Geography class?” Oh the adolescent drama and the disappointments wrought by Cupid’s cruel shenanigans…..
A more contemporary approach to Valentine’s day gifting
I don’t know about you but I’m loving the modern metamorphosis of Valentine’s day from the slightly smug “romantic meal a deux” to a more inclusive “I think you’re rather fabulous” occasion. Now anyone from gal pals, guy pals, lonesome neighbours to friends in the break up phase are just as likely to receive a lovely little something on February 14th and know that they too are beloved. Smug coupledom be gone! It is also the perfect excuse for a little self care too. A time to run a deep, luxurious bath, open a bottle of something bubbly (and we’re not just talking bath bubbles) and nibble on exquisite hand crafted treats such as these.
Here at Honeybuns we have born this “broad church” approach to Valentine’s gifting in mind whilst developing our new range of cake based presents. Our pocket money friendly chocolate brownie tins are ideal for the kids to present to grannies, grandpas, besties or favourite teachers. For a special person who is partial to a brownie or several, our Chocolate Aficionado Taster Box should hit their sweet spot.
What gluten free and vegan gifts can I gift this Valentines?
Happily all of the cake slices and tray bakes we make here at Honeybuns are gluten free. We use a blend of polenta, ground almonds and flax seed to create our gorgeous range of award winning chocolate brownies, flapjacks and indulgent layered shortbreads. Worry not if you are also on the look out for vegan cakes that are also wheat free. Half of our range is now vegan and registered with The Vegan Society.

Help! I’m in a hurry and need a card and Valentine’s gift wrap too!
Just select the gift wrap at checkout and let us do the rest. Julie, in the Honeybuns online shop team, is brilliant at present wrapping and makes everything look utterly beautiful. Our gift wrap is both eco friendly and luxurious at the same time. Each wrapped gift comes with a hand tied red Honeybuns bow for that Instagram worthy WOW factor. We will also hand write a cute card with your chosen personalised message. This card service is offered, free of charge, for all purchases. So much nicer and special than a printed standard gift message.
Looking for a really luxurious alternative to flowers or chocolates this Valentine’s?
For a super decadent, luxury splurge for that really special someone our Ultimate Chocolate Cake Lovers Tin is the last word in decadence. The lucky recipient will enjoy 8 slices of Honeybuns cakes including brownies, millionaire’s shortbread and dark chocolate and coconut slices. Each cake is made from the finest ingredients and baked low and slow for maximum flavour. The added bonus is that these treats just so happen to be gluten free and vegan- though you’d never know.
To top it off there is a keepsake Honeybuns tin and a beautiful, hand poured soy candle scented with romantic rhubarb and rose. Our candles are hand made here in Dorset.
Cakes are just that little bit different to the more run on the mill chocolate or flower options. Dare to be different this Valentines and show your loved one(s) that you’ve put some real thought and care into choosing something truly artisan this year.
Shopping local and independent is the greener choice
